The Bachelor of Science in International Business prepares students for assuming a managerial position in any American or foreign multinational firm, developing one’s own business abroad, and working for international governments and agencies. The following provides information on the main qualifications considered for entry to the Business School undergraduate degree courses. It will allow you to specialise in your field of interest, e.g. marketing, accounting, service management or human resources, and will make you familiar with the methods of academic research in business and management. You will develop an understanding of managing people, business operations and logistics, marketing and communications, finance and accounting, corporate strategy and business ethics. You’ll develop an understanding of international business, marketing, finance, and trade through policy analysis and case studies.

Business graduates are employed across a broad range of professions, including investment, accountancy, sales, marketing, stockbroking, foreign currency dealing and management consultancy. We follow the Arcada Business School-concept, which means that our students in Business Administration and International Business (In English) co-operate actively during their studies. Students can specialise, pursuing business disciplines such as accountancy, economics, marketing, human resource management, and risk management. The programme aims at providing the students with the vital skills needed to work in expert positions in small and medium-sized companies involved in international business. Your final year of study continues to allow you to build your degree depending on your interests and career aspirations.

You will learn how to analyse different business environments and you will understand the development of international business in emerging markets as well as the role of emerging market firms in the global economy. During your first year, you are encouraged to apply for an international exchange, taken in Semester 2 of your second year. Many countries such as China and Japan have many etiquette rules surrounding the exchange of business gifts. This module also seeks to demonstrate how innovation can provide competitive advantage for business firms operating in local, national and international environments. Career in Global business navigates through complex global economic landscapes.

In addition to attending traditional lectures and seminars, you will also select career related and transferable skills workshops and events that match your needs, and guest lectures from business and industry. Typically designed for applicants with management experience, DBA degree programs build on skills acquired through master’s-level studies. Analyze concepts and models as they apply to organizational functions within specific international contexts.
