Business Conduct & Ethics
In 2004 the Poe family of Tampa, Florida endowed the Elizabeth B. and William F. Poe, Sr. Center for Business Ethics Education and Research in honor of their parents. While the purpose here is to define the various roles related to business, it also seems an opportune time to consider instances in which there is no role or relationship between an individual and a business. This cultural aspect of modern Japan is probably reflected more visibly in the business management systems more often with very large companies, than smaller companies in Japan.
The decision is still rational, and it is practical, but the lack of benefit or detriment to another party makes it of negligible interest to ethics. And let’s suppose just two conditions must be met; they must be competent to teach ethics and they must have an international reputation for research.
