If you have always been fascinated by world cultures, exotic languages, international travel and foreign customs, you may want to pursue an Associate’s Degree in International Studies. You can take advantage of the Link Lounge, a space dedicated to Business School students, located on floor seven of the Newton building. Our students have worked in a wide variety of organisations from financial services to manufacturing – in recent years, students have worked on placement in the UK with international organisations and worked abroad with foreign based businesses. This program, offered by the Darla Moore School of Business and the School of Law, culminates in a International Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor.
You will also study Economics, International Law, Research Methodology and English. How the environment impacts on the fortunes of the business firm is nowhere more evident than in the collapse of many business enterprises including financial institutions (e.g.banks) in the current worldwide economic downturn. This international experience will allow you to attend university in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia.
Students being enrolled in our international business programme can expect a curriculum that provides a solid understanding of the global marketplace covering a broad range of interrelated fields. You will also establish an overview of business organisations in a global context and be introduced to key areas of business such as finance, marketing and data analysis.
Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland, our 2 year fast track LLB is available to those who already hold an Honours degree in another discipline. The business firm is not a faceless entity; at best, it can be an icon of social and economic progress, and at worst become vanquished by its inability to read the environment, Woolworths and MFI being two recent examples of such failure. The good news is that with the right information and support, you can play that game successfully.
Our International Team regularly visits a number of countries across the world, and attends British Council Fairs and events in individual schools, colleges and universities. For those students wanting only an exposure to international business, an International Business Minor is also available. Our teaching is industry-led, inspired by contemporary practice and developed in partnership with business leaders. Dust and smoke particles are generally twice the world average and five times higher than the developed world.
